IRES2300 - Introduction to Reserve Fund Studies and Management

This course is designed for professionals who are interested in pursuing the CRP (Certified Reserve Planner) or ARP (Associate Reserve Planner) designations. Credit is awarded for this course upon successful completion of an end of course exam. 

Course Content

  • Explanation of the history,  rationale and requirements of reserve fund planning
  • Review and understanding documentation and drawings required by a Reserve Fund Study
  • The basic framework for a reserve fund required by the legislation. Including the development of key components, life cycle and component cost analysis, bench marking and financial concepts such as determining inflation and future value of components and developing interest rates
  • Benefits of historical financial analysis
