REIC Executive Director & CEO Maura McLaren Appointed as Chair of CSAE

The Canadian Society of Association Executives is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Maura McLaren, CAE as Chair of the Board of Directors 2014-2015.

Maura McLaren has been an active leader in association management for more than 35 years, including working in the charity, trade and professional sectors.  Maura is the Executive Director & CEO of the Real Estate Institute of Canada (REIC) since 2004.
 
A CSAE member since 1983, Maura earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE®) designation in 2010. She joined the Board of Directors in 2011 and recently served as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. In the past, she has served on numerous committees and taskforces at both the National and Chapter levels including the role of Trillium Chapter President in 1998. Since joining REIC, Maura has supported the Board of Directors in its transition from a more operational to a more strategic focus through a very rigorous Strategic Planning and implementation process. Maura continues to share her expertise and passion in all areas of association management, in particular financial planning.  
 
“I feel very honoured to be elected to the role of CSAE Chair,” expressed Ms. McLaren. “CSAE has contributed greatly to my career and has been a benefit to me in my role at REIC. I look forward to giving back and to the experiential learning that I can bring back to my job. As I stated in my remarks at Conference in Niagara Falls, I look forward to working with all CSAE members and partners to build strong bridges and communications over the next 12 months. ”
