REIC Launches New Finance Course
New! Investment Real Estate Financial Tools
REIC is pleased to announce that FIN402 Investment Real Estate Financial Tools (replacing REIC 2260) is being launched this May. The course has undergone full Canadianization and has been approved for release. Other finance courses being Canadianized are Investment Real Estate Financing and Valuation, ASM 603, 604, and 605 (replacing REIC 2350) which should be rolled out later this Spring. The additional good news regarding the finance track is that students can complete them in 7 days (rather than the original 10 days)! REIC is incorporating IREM finance courses in order to better meet the needs of our students. The courses have the most current leading-edge content and incorporate contemporary design and layout to augment student learning. Candidates who have not fully completed the finance component of their designation will be grandfathered into the program. Check the REIC website for scheduled dates. The REPAM (Real Estate Property/Asset Management) Council and IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management) are encouraging its Canadian members to provide data on the properties they manage for the 2010 Income /Expense Analysis Report.

REIC is Now Accepting Nominations for the 2010 REIC Pursuit of Excellence Awards
The Real Estate Institute of Canada is now accepting nominations for the 2010 Pursuit of Excellence Awards. You can nominate your fellow members, real estate associations and chapters in over a dozen different categories. The REIC Board of Directors and the Awards Task Force encourages REIC Members to submit numerous submissions.
Please download the 2009 Pursuit of Excellence Awards Brochure and make certain that you look at the new and updated awards being offered this year. Entry forms are also available for download.
This year’s award winners will be announced at the annual REIC Awards Dinner & Dance to be held on Saturday May 30, 2009 as part of the 2009 REIC Annual Conference in Halifax Nova Scotia.
REIC Members are asked to be aware of submission deadlines when preparing their nominations.
The deadline for awards is Friday April 16, 2010 @ 4:00PM EST. Chapter of Year Award submissions will be accepted until Friday May 21, 2010 @ 4:00PM EST.

The Institute honoured its best of the year last weekend in Halifax.
This past Saturday night the Real Estate Institute of Canada handed out its 2009 REIC Pursuit of Excellence Awards at the annual REIC Awards Gala. The gala, which was part of the festivities at the 2009 REIC Annual Conference, took place in the Halifax Ballroom of the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia.
