Captivate Your Mind, Captivate Your Senses!

Join REIC in Ottawa, Ontario

at your 2007 Annual Meeting

We are very excited to be hosting the 2007 REIC Annual Meeting in Ottawa, Ontario and it is our pleasure to invite our members from coast-to-coast to Captivate Your Mind, Captivate Your Senses with us on May 1-6, 2007!  Being held at the Ottawa Delta Hotel and Suites, REIC’s 2007 Annual Meeting is the perfect event to bring your spouse or colleagues to.  Stay a few extra days and explore all that Ottawa has to offer and take advantage of the special REIC rate at the Ottawa Delta Hotel and Suites.

The Annual REIC General Meeting is one of our most exciting times of the year. We are presently looking forward to an insightful, informative and entertaining annual conference in Ottawa, this May 1 through 6. This year’s conference features Ottawa’s annual Tulip Festival, the largest display of flowering tulips anywhere in the world.

I am excited to announce that the program of events includes our first ever IREM/REIC Region 14 Leadership Conference. The one and a half day event will highlight and provide an overview of the IREM organization, its services and support to members. Further it will speak to career leadership and advancement as well as envisioning successful chapter and association practices and partnerships. If you are serious about leadership you will not want to miss this event.

The REIC Friday May 4 program features our Professional Development Day that promises to both insightful and informative.  You will benefit from learning more on the Canadian economic outlook as you hear from the Chief Economist of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Bob Dugan. The Vice President of Claims & Underwriting from First Canadian Title, Susan Leslie, will bring you up to speed on Real Estate and Mortgage Title policies and issues. The Leader of Loss Mitigation & Investigations from Genworth Financial Canada, Robert Kirby, will address one of the major property management concerns - Canadian illegal grow operations. If the environment and sustainability practices for home and the workplace are of concern to you, make certain to see the “inconvenient truth” slideshow, presented by Peter Corbyn, officially endorsed to present on environmental and sustainability issues by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore.

Plus, as an added bonus, don’t miss our private tour and dinner at the Canadian War Museum, one of Canada’s most highly regarded architectural and historical landmarks.

Saturday’s program begins with our national council meetings and continues with the Special and Annual General Meetings. Our 2007 Pursuit of Excellence Awards Dinner and Dance will celebrate our achievements this past year. Take this opportunity to welcome the new board of directors, celebrate our star members, chapters and organizations at the Awards Dinner while dancing the night away. On Sunday, May 6, we’ll see everyone off at the Farewell Brunch where we can say good-bye to our peers and colleagues from across the country and look forward to another great year at REIC.

Please be sure to review the full program of events and REGISTER TODAY!  For more information on registering for the full conference or an individual event call 1-800-542-REIC or 416-695-9000 x27 and speak with Ted Kellow.
