MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

I am excited to announce that since my last President's Message, your Board of Directors and the National Staff have been working diligently to increase efficiency and benefits to our members through several new initiatives. In particular, I am proud to announce that REIC is now recognized as an official IREM Region, which will lend benefits to all REIC members. I urge you to read the article in this issue that explains this announcement in detail.

FROM THE DESK OF THE ED

So many of us greet each other with the question “What’s New?”

REIC REPAM Council establishes Canada
as official IREM® Region

At the 2006 IREM Education Conference in Tampa, Florida on October 19th, Region 14 was formed, encompassing all IREM Members in Canada. The REPAM/IREM Canada Council has been working towards this status for a number of years. Chrystal Skead, CPM®, was bestowed the honour of being appointed Regional Vice President (RVP) for a two year term.

Atlantic Connection Wrap Up

In September 2006, we participated in the 2nd Atlantic Connection in Halifax, NS. This tradeshow is the largest conference for real estate professionals in Canada's Atlantic Region, attended by over 500 delegates from both the residential and commercial real estate sectors. Our presence at this show would not have been possible without the generous support of the REIC Nova Scotia Chapter.
