Earn the GRI.C Designation

The Graduate of the Real Estate Institute of Canada (GRI.C) is designed to set you apart from the rest in the competitive real estate industry by enhancing your knowledge of technical and fundamental real estate skills.

Grounded in five essential competencies - ethics, pricing, buying, selling, and negotiating - the GRI.C equips early and mid-career professionals with the practical skills and confidence to thrive in an ever-evolving market.

Pre-requisites: Real estate professionals who hold a valid real estate license and are a REALTOR®.

Designation Requirements

Experience
To be eligible to apply for the GRI.C Program you have:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of qualifying real estate sales experience
Application
What do I need to Apply?
You will need:
  • Proof of any designations, post-secondary training, certifications or degrees
  • 2 professional reference letters
  • 1 letter of recommendation
  • Resume and CV
  • Provide real estate license
  • To be a REALTOR® in Good Standing with CREA
  • Application fee
  • REIC Verified™ (includes background check)​​
$475 plus tax
Program Acceptance
Program Candidacy
Once approved into the program:
  • Pay Affiliate Membership Dues
  • 5 years to complete the program from your acceptance date
  • Sign attestation agreement
  • Agree to the REIC Code of Professional Standards
$50 plus tax

NAR Education
NAR Courses offered through REIC:
  • PSA: Price Strategy Advisor *
  • ABR®: Accredited Buyer's Representative *
  • SRS: Seller Representative Specialist *
  • RENE: Real Estate Negotiation Expert *
$1350 plus tax
REIC Education
  • REIC2100 - Ethics Intensive
$375 plus tax
Certification
Once you have completed all of the required education you will be required to take the GRI.C Certification Exam.
$275 plus tax
Maintenance
To maintain your GRI.C Designation, you will be required to:
  • Maintain a good standing with REIC by paying annual REIC dues. $50 plus tax
  • Renew your REIC Verified™ annually
  • Every 2 years, submit 20 hours of professional development

Prior to applying, you must meet GRI.C admission requirements - hold a valid real estate license and be a REALTOR® in good standing. We also strongly recommend attending an REIC Information Session where we will guide you through what you need, the process, and answer any questions you have.

APPLY

Complete the application package to apply for the Designation Program. Once your application is approved and you have accepted the REIC Code of Professional Standards, you will become an REIC Candidate and begin your journey to designation.​​​

Register for NAR and REIC Courses through our calendar You must complete and pass all required NAR and  REIC courses, GRI.C Certification Exam.
