ACoM - Accredited Commercial Manager

Earn the ACoM Designation

Make your mark early in your commercial property management career.

Earning the ACoM® Certification shows employers and clients that you’re passionate about commercial real estate management and have the credibility and expertise to back up that passion. The ACoM® Program explores key concepts related to ethical real estate management and reviews the following key competency areas related to effective commercial management: human resources and relationship management, property financial management, maintenance and risk management, and marketing and leasing.

​You must have a minimum of one (1) year of qualifying experience, meeting minimum criteria, in order to qualify.  ​

ACoM Program

To obtain the ACoM® designation you must complete the following:
​

REIC2600: Ethics in Business Practice
CML201: Managing Commercial Properties 
OR
MXD201: Managing Mixed-Use Properties
ACoM
® Examination

The ACoM® program will take the typical candidate 6-12 months to complete.
Cost
It will cost the typical candidate who has been accepted into the ACoM
® program approx. $4470 plus taxes.
This cost is Inclusive of the application fee, candidate dues, and all required courses.

Admission Requirements: What do I need to apply?

Education​​
  • REIC may recognize experience-based learning in place of formal educational qualifications as well as non-formal learning which is learning that is undertaken through a structured program but does not lead to a formally recognized qualification
  • Provide proof of any real estate education, training or designation programs that you have completed throughout your career (eg. CPM®, CAM, RAM CRM, or PCAM)
Experience
  • Cover letter and resume highlighting your experience and any formal/non-formal learning or experienced based learning.
  • Earn 12 months of commercial real estate management experience meeting minimum portfolios performing 14 of the 29 job functions used to define a commercial property manager on that portfolio.  Experience does not need to be in sequential months. View functions and portfolio requirements.
Expertise
  • Minimum of 1 reference letter (to confirm industry experience)
  • 2 letters of recommendation (from peers, colleagues, and/or clients)
  • Accolades and/or awards of excellence received pertaining to your career

APPLY

Complete the application package to apply for the Designation Program. Once your application is approved and you have accepted the REIC Code of Professional Standards, you will become an REIC Candidate and begin your journey to designation.
