CLO - Certified Leasing Officer

Earn the CLO Designation

​The Certified Leasing Officer (CLO) designation recognizes the proven specialist in leasehold acquisition, disposal and administration. The CLO program prepares real estate professionals for the complexity of today’s real estate leasing decisions, providing the tools and resources that will help expand your career and business opportunities.

You must have a minimum of three (3) years of creditable experience (actively engaged in leasing activities for a minimum of 50% of your working day) before you can be granted the CLO designation.

To obtain the CLO designation you must first apply for Candidacy with REIC. Becoming a Candidate is your first step toward achieving an REIC designation.

The CLO Roadmap

Take the steps to earning the CLO (Certified Leasing Officer) Designation

APPLY 

Apply for Candidacy and complete the application package. Once your application is approved*, you will become a Candidate Member and have access to member benefits. 
​*including a non-refundable application fee

REQUIRED EDUCATION

A minimum of three (3) years of creditable experience before you can be granted the CLO designation and complete the following:​​
REIC 2600, FIN 402, REIC 2360
REIC 2361, and two (2) University/College electives

EXPERIENCE INTERVIEW​

Once you have completed your education requirements and have submitted the required experience forms, a qualified representative from REIC will contact you for your experience interview.

ACHIEVE DESIGNATION​

You will receive your designation certificate, CLO pin and full membership after all requirements have been met including your acceptance of the REIC Code of Professional Standards and becoming a member of the local chapter (where applicable).
