Designation Requirements

Experience

To be eligible to apply for the FRI Program you have:

• hold a valid real estate registration/license
• 10 years of real estate sales experience

Application

What do I need to Apply?

You will need:

• ​Post-secondary or other educational transcripts or experience equivalent demonstrating disciplines in Business Law, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or Business Adminsitration have been satisfied
• Proof of any real estate education, training or deisngations programs completed throughout your career
• 1 professional reference letter
• 2 recommendation letters
• First and most recent Trade Transactions Report
• Any accolades, or awards of excellence received during your career
• Resume and CV
• Application fee
• REIC Verified™ (includes background check)

$475 plus tax

Program Acceptance

Program Candidacy
Once approved into the program:

• Pay Candidate dues $350 annually
• 5 years to complete the program from your acceptance date
• Sign attestation agreement
• Agree to the REIC Code of Professional Standards

REIC2600: Ethics in Business Practice - $1495
REIC2270: Consumer Behaviour & Negotiating - $1495
REIC2280: Legal Issues in Real Estate - $1195
REIC2360: The Leasing Process OR  REIC2361: Negotiation and Documentation in Commercial Leasing - $2395
​FIN402: Budgeting, Cash Flow, and Reporting for Investment Real Estate - $995

Certification

Once you have completed and passed all of the required REIC education you will receive your designation certificate and digital badging.

Maintenance

To maintain your FRI Designation, you will be required to:

• Maintain a good standing with REIC by paying annual REIC Membership dues​. $595 plus tax.
• Renew your REIC Verified™ annually​​

APPLY

Complete the application package to apply for the Designation Program. Once your application is approved and you have accepted the REIC Code of Professional Standards, you will become an REIC Candidate and begin your journey to designation.​​

REQUIRED EDUCATION

You must successfully complete and pass the following courses:

REIC2600, REIC2270, REIC2280,REIC2360 or REIC2361, FIN402

ACHIEVE DESIGNATION​

You will receive your designation certificate, FRI pin and full REIC Membership after all requirements have been met. ​
